Jones Chevrolet is all about family. We strive to treat our customers and employees as if they were family. The family tradition within Jones Chevrolet dates back to 1934. In that year, J.L. Jones begin work as a salesperson at North State Chevrolet in Greensboro, NC. By 1946 he had worked his was into management and bought an interest in the dealership. He and his two sons, John T. Jones Sr. and J. Norman Jones, worked together at the dealership until John T. Jones, Sr. relocated his family to Sumter, SC and acquired Love Chevrolet in 1966. In August of 1966 Jones Chevrolet was founded and began operations in Sumter. John T. Jones Sr. had two sons, John T. Jones Jr. and James E. Jones, that grew up in the dealership and worked with their father. In 1970 Jones Chevrolet brought Subaru to Sumter, and in 1982 LA Leasing and Daily Rental was formed as the leasing and rental department of Jones Chevrolet. Subaru was dropped from the group in 1990 and was replaced with the purchase of the Nissan dealership and Pontiac-GMC Truck dealerships in Sumter. John T. Jones Sr. passed away in 1995. John T. Jones Jr. has two son, Jones T. Jones III and Robert C. Jones, who have taken to the family tradition and remain with the company. LA Leasing and Daily Rental moved into a standalone facility in 1997. Jones Chevrolet was able to move into a new 34,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in June of 2004.
Regardless of the last names of the people at Jones Chevrolet, customers and employees alike, we are all one family.
